Ad Revenue Share: keep up to 85% of net advertiser revenue
Wowza Radio pays hosts a fixed percentage of the real money advertisers spend on their stations — not a slice of an engagement pool. One disclosed fee, one published floor, no discretionary scoring.
How a payout is calculated
- 1 Billable impressions only
Ad plays under 3s and repeat plays beyond 6 per listener per day are excluded as invalid traffic. Advertisers aren't billed for them, so they don't generate host revenue.
- 2 10% delivery & cost-of-sale fee
Covers ad sales, bandwidth, transcoding and payment processing. Hard-capped at 12% and never applied retroactively to a closed period.
- 3 Your tier share of net revenue
Starter 55%, Pay-as-you-go 60%, Creator 70%, Pro 70%, Network 85% — applied to net revenue after the fee above.
- 4 $25.00 payout floor, carried forward
Balances below the floor roll into your next period instead of being lost to per-payment fees. Nothing expires.

Frequently asked questions
- How is my ad revenue share calculated?
- We count only billable ad impressions, subtract one disclosed delivery & cost-of-sale fee of 10% (hard-capped at 12%), then pay your plan tier's percentage of that net revenue: Starter 55%, Pay-as-you-go 60%, Creator and Pro 70%, Network 85%.
- What is the minimum payout?
- $25.00. Anything below the floor carries forward to your next period automatically — it is never forfeited, and it keeps per-payment PayPal fees from eating small balances.
- Which ad plays do not earn money?
- Ad plays shorter than 3 seconds, and more than 6 plays of the same ad to the same listener in one day, are filtered out as invalid traffic before revenue is calculated. Advertisers are not billed for them, so hosts are not paid for them.
- Is there an engagement, virality or originality score?
- No. There is no engagement pool, no originality multiplier and no discretionary review. Your earnings depend only on real advertiser spend delivered on your station, so there is no incentive to chase volume or clickbait.
- How often are payouts sent?
- Monthly or quarterly via PayPal — you choose the cadence on your host revenue page. Every payout row shows billable impressions, gross, the fee, net revenue, your share percentage and any carry-forward.
